While in Suzhou, we visited a huge silk factory, which we both found fascinating! The above shot is of the "old" factory, which is no longer in use. The process is much more mechanized now.

I grabbed a very quick shot of silkworms "on display" eating mulberry leaves as I walked past on the tour. You probably already know that mulberry leaves are the only food of silkworms.

Those white oval-shaped things are cocoons.

It was awesome to see the process from beginning to end...the end being the weaving of some gorgeous piece of silk like that in the above photo. And it's green, my favorite color! :-)
