I took this picture last Wednesday (6/13) afternoon during our walk. The Marriott, our home-away-from-home, is in the distance.

We flew home last Thursday afternoon, June 14th (which, by the way, was our 42nd wedding anniversary!) from San Francisco. You've seen lots of pictures that I've taken from our hotel room window. I took this picture of the Marriott from the plane as we taxied toward our takeoff position. As you can see, there's a huge body of water between the hotel and the taxi/landing strip of SFO. (The hotel is really quite large, but the distance makes it look small.)

Our plane is pausing, waiting for that plane in the air to land before we turn another 90 degrees and take off ourselves.

Once in flight, it's amazing to watch the verdant green hills and mountains of the California coast turn to brown, dry flatlands. We LOVE to fly!! :-) This flight will take us to Chicago for a long weekend at home, during which we will celebrate our anniversary as well as Father's Day.

A view of Lake Tahoe....

Mountains at the lower right edge of the photo, with barren, flat land to the left.

After Phil and I arrived at Chicago's O'Hare from San Francisco shortly after 8:00 PM last Thursday evening, I just had to stop at a window and take this picture of the setting sun. How nice that the airplane lifted into the sky at the time I was taking this shot!

If you've ever taken the people-mover between O'Hare's United Concourses B & C, you know about the overhead synchronized tubular lights and the musical sounds that accompany them.

Last Thursday evening after we exited the pedway on our way to baggage claim, I stepped aside, turned and took this quick shot. The picture isn't that clear, but it's colorful, and shows the lights we always enjoy when we're going from one United concourse to another!

This photo may look like I used black and white film, but that was the actual color of the skies when I took the picture this past Friday morning, June 8. I took the picture because of the sun shining brilliantly on the water out in the bay, while the waters right in front of our hotel were dark grey. I surely wish it were possible to capture the multi-dimensional sight of the "glow" way out in the water with a camera but, alas, we end up with only one dimension.

Later in the morning, the water was "aglow" (to use the word again) with sunlight much closer to our hotel, and the coloring, as you can see, was much lighter and a blue-grey.

Saturday afternoon, Phil and I went out for a walk. Just HAD to pause and get a picture of this Virgin Airlines 747 taxiing down to the turn-and-takeoff point at SFO. We do a lot of pausing and watching while out on our walks here near San Francisco Airport! :-)

Beautiful flowers in front of the Marriott.

Thank You, God, for giving us life!, and for blessing us with senses that enable us to enjoy the sights, sounds, color, and magnificence of Your creation!
